Serving with the San Andreas State Highway Patrol

State traffic enforcement and highway patrol operations across San Andreas.

The Patrol is a small, hand-picked unit. There is no open intake and no application window to wait for. Troopers are invited from personnel already serving with a San Andreas agency, on the strength of how they work rather than how long they have been around, and the invitation comes from command.

If you want to be considered, use the contact form and say so. Interest is noted year round and it is looked at when a seat opens.

Rank Structure

This is the full ladder as it stands today. Some tiers are held open and carry nobody at the moment; they are listed because the ladder is the ladder.

Command

  1. Colonel

Supervisors

  1. Sergeant

Troopers

  1. Senior Trooper
  2. Trooper

What Is Expected

Know the community rules and standards before you are invited, and read them again after. Troopers are held to them the same way everyone else is, and the community keeps a disciplinary record. Beyond that: work your stops properly, use the radio the way you were taught, and treat the people you deal with the same whether they are cooperative or not.

Troopers cover long stretches of road on their own, often as the only unit for miles. Judgement when nobody is watching counts for more here than it does anywhere else in the state.

Training and certifications are issued through the Mountain Valley training site and show against your name on the roster.
